Thank you! Not sure if they tested Saturday; one person had a stuffy nose and had recently been traveling. Today they tested positive. But this is helpful thank you so much!
Thank you! What is the current best practice for testing after you have been exposed? My husband and I went to dinner on Saturday night and our friends tested positive for Covid today, Tuesday. I’m wondering how long we should be testing ourselves and any additional protocols we should consider.
In this case it’s hard to know if you were potentially exposed. Did they test on Saturday or have any symptoms?
It is safest to assume potential exposure and test every other day if possible until it’s been at least 7-10 days. Most people will develop symptoms within that window. In the meanwhile masking in public and around high risk people can reduce the risk of passing it on if you did get exposed and end up infected. If testing that often is too much due to limited number of tests then masking around others can help protect the community.
By day 10 if you’re still without symptoms and negative you’re likely in the clear.
