Measles cases in the U.S. and Canada continue to rise, but not as dramatically as they did. Vaccination is still the best way to protect your family and those around you who cannot be vaccinated.
Thank you for this update and thank you for continuing to recommend the measles vaccination. Just because we rarely see these infectious diseases doesn’t mean they don’t happen! The anti-vax has spilled over into veterinary medicine and it’s terribly frightening because many of the infectious diseases we saw frequently 30 years ago are starting to slowly creep back and unfortunately are fatal.
Nerdy Girl Sandy here - thank you for your thoughtful comment. I recently had a conversation with my vet (I have two labradors) who is seeing this in the UK too, and is having similar conversations with pet owners. There seems so much misinformation in that sphere too.
