There have been times in my life when I needed meds to be able to function and sleep along with counseling, exercise, healthy eating, and self-care. Also times (10 full years) when all I needed was counseling, healthy eating, some exercise and self-care. My current psychiatrist checks in all the time to see if I am ready to cut back on meds as my grief has improved significantly. Not time yet.

Yeah I did therapy for years and while helpful my SSRI (even at a very low dose) was the first true mental relief I had in years! It helped me complete my therapy homework and open up in talk therapy more.
